Thirty Pleurotus strains (P. djamor, P. ostreatus and P. pulmonarius) cultivated in malt
extract agar (AEM), AEM supplemented with yeast extract and soluble derivatives of lignin
(AEML-DSL) and agar with coffee soluble pulp derivatives (APC), was confronted with three
strains of Trichoderma (T. viride and T. ressei). The culture media and Trichoderma strains
were determining factors of competitiveness of Pleurotus. P. ostreatus and P. pulmonarius
strains presented greater resistances to the antagonistic organisms, reaching averages from
58.3 to 91% in the cultures in AEML-DSL. In general, T. viride strains produced greater
inhibition of Pleurotus mycelial growth than T. ressei.
