Abstract

The coffe pulp can be sun dried and then used for Pleurotus ostreatus cultiva
tion. In this way, coffee pulp may be stored for a long time, and could be easily
handl~d into other regions. The biological efficiency of Pleurotus ostreatus on sun
dried coffee pulp stored two years is higher than 100 %. Sun dried coffee pulp as
substrate has been used in a mushroom commercial farm in Coatepec, Veracruz, with
good results.
