Mycelium growlh of 3 slrains ofGanoderma htcidum (502, 505 y 506) was evalualed on malí exlract agar
(AEM), malt yeast agar (AML), pótalo -dexirose-yeasl agar (APDL) and dexlrose flamboyan exlracl agar Delonix regia
(ADF). All slrains showed similar growlh on all media bul on AEM, where mycelium grew slowly. No influence of pH on
growlh was delecled in Ihe lesled range (5 lo 6.5). Oplimum lemperalure for growlh was 30°C for strain 505 and belween 25
lo 30°C for strains 502 and 506. All slrains were grown on sorghum, corn cob, Leucaena and flamboyanl sawdusl and
mixlures of ihese malerials; optimum subslrale humidily ranges from 55 lo 70% and il is specific for each slrain. Mycelium
growlh on differenl organic subslrales varied according lo each slrain bul strain 506 overwhelmed 502 and 505 on all
subslrales.
