Abstract

Psilocybe sancionan Guzmán is described as a new species from the South of the State
of México, in a disturbed forest of Pinus-Quercus-Populus. This species is very cióse to P.
collybiodcs Sing. & Smith, P. zapotecorum Heim emend. Guzmán and P. barrerae Cifuentes
& Guzmán, and very probably it is an hallucinogenic species. New records of P.
barrerae and P. cubensis (Earle) Sing., are also presented, as well as the discussion of the
book written by the authpr: The genus Psilocybe, recen'tly published by Cramer.
