Abstract

Gymnopilus rugulosus is recorded for the first time from Colombia; this species is
very distinctive from others in the genus due to the robust basidioma, and the size and
ornamentation of the spores. It was found in the humid subtropical zones of Colombia, among
2500-3200 msnm. This species might have a wider distribution in subtropical America; by now it
is known from Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico.
