Introduction to the Ethnomicology of Yucatan Maya. The knowledge of the fungi in Pixoy, Valladolid

The results frOM a ethnomicological study 1n Pixoy, Valladolid, State of Yuca
tan are given. The Maya names of five species of higher fungi were recorded, never
theless, only two species are used now. A scheme of the traditional classification
of fungi was elaborate. 15 species of fungi ere reported and of these 5 are new
for Yucatan mycoflora
