Species of Ascomycetes reported from Mexico IV: 1996-2006

The fourth check-list of Ascomycetes known in Mexico is presented as a
complement of three last of 1970, 1983 and 1996. At present there are 687 species known in
Mexico, which 142 of them were reported between 1996-2006.The ecological and
geographical distribution of the species is discussed and a brief analysis of the development of
the knowledge of these fungi in Mexico is included.
