Seventeen species of Ascomycetes from the national forest reserve and wildlife
refuge Ajos-Bavispe, located in Sonora, Mexico, were studied. Nine taxa are recorded for the
first time in the Sonoran mycobiota: Bisporella citrina, Chlorociboria aeruginascens,
Cordyceps sobolifera, Daldinia simulans, Poronia punctata, Diatrype stigma, Diatrypella
quercina, Eutypa flavovirens and Eutypella scoparia. Descriptions of poorly known species in
the Mexican mycobiota, and some ecological and distributional observations of all studied
taxa are included. Photographs of macro- and microscopic characters are given for some
species.
