Abstract

Fifty six species of rusts are described of which five: Physopella fia (Cast.) Arth.,
Puccinia phyllostachidis S. Kusano, Puccima pampeana Speg., Ravenelia bakenana Diet. and
Uromyces pontederiae Gerald, are new records from México, 29 are for the first time recorded
for the State of Veracruz, and the others (22 species) are reponed from new localities
of the same State. This paper is based on the study of more than 100 specimens
from approximately 40 localities mainly in the Central part of the State of Veracruz
