Abstract

The fungistatic and fungicid effect of differcnl chcmicals wcre provcd on several
moulds that invade stored grains. Three kinds of experinicnls were performed,
sharing spore gennination on agar slidcs and l'ungal giowlh onpapcr disc mcthods.
The first experiment was related to the activity of boric acid, salicilic acid, eugenoi
(1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 p.p.m. respectively), and essential acids of Licaría alata
(12.5, 25 ancl 50 mg/ml) on spore germinación of Aspergillus flavus. In the second
experiment, all of the previous chemical substances wcre increased to a concentration
of 20,000 p.p.m. and iested orí Aspergillus parasilicus, A. candídus an&Penicillium
cyclopium. In the third and last one, the cffect of Captan 80 on Aspergillus
flavus, A. candidus,A. ochraceus a.ndA.parasiticus wasproved. The different fungal
strains scnsitivities toward the chemicals tesíed are discussed.
