Abstract

Metabolic (culture fil trate) , polysaccharide and cyt oplasmic antigens of
Aspergillus fumigatus, ~ · niger and ~· flavus were obtained at 2, 4 , 8 and 15 days
of fungal growth. No antigens were isolated af ter 3 weeks to eliminate non-s pecific
r eact ions due to C carbohydrate-C reactive protein. Their immunological reactivity
was evaluated and compared by gel immunodiffusion and counterimmunoelectrophoresis
wit h anti -~. f umigatus, anti -~. niger and an ti-~. f l avus hyperi mmune rabbit
antisera. Fi fteen days cytoplasmic antigens from the three fungal species, showed
a good reactivity and no cr oss r eact ions when tested with sera from patient s v.dth
other mycotic diseases .
